Lupita Nyong’o In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Lupita Nyong'o In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Lupita Nyong’o made her return to the red carpet at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards tonight (January 11), showing just why she was your pick for Standout Star of Awards Season 2014.

Continuing her standout style, she certainly turned heads in a light purple Giambattista Valli Fall 2014 Couture creation at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Embellished with a flurry of floral-like petals at the bodice that whimsically bloomed into a printed chiffon skirt, this gown was one that was made for movement.

She accessorized with Chopard jewels and lavender-spiked makeup, while rocking a new full ’do.

Most Consistent, Breakout Star & Stand Out Star of Awards Season 2014 – Lupita Nyong’o

Most Consistent, Breakout Star & Stand Out Star of Awards Season 2014 - Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong’o one-upped herself this year, building on her 2013 Best Newcomer and Breakout Star award and doubling the recognition with a trio of wins for Breakout Star, Most Consistent and Standout Star of Awards Season.

It’s really no surprise though that the actress would score this Best Of trio. Ever since she stepped foot on the scene, we’ve been coveting her every style move, as she continues to make waves on the red carpet and in the industry as a filmmaker and an Oscar-winning actress. She also spent time in front of the camera for fashion rather than film, starring in Miu Miu’s Spring 2014 campaign.

Never afraid to trot out new looks, she consistently impresses in a range of silhouettes and a colourful palette of hues, always masterfully matching her impeccable makeup to her look.

She’s donned every major designer, from Altuzarra to Christian Dior, Chanel, Lanvin, Stella McCartney, and many more, but many of her most dazzling entrances occurred during awards season.

I’m still in awe of the glorious turquoise-blue Gucci gown with floral embellishment at the SAG Awards, not to mention her custom ivory Calvin Klein Collection cutout design at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. And who could forget that sweeping confection of a baby-blue dress from none other than Prada for the Oscars.

I can’t wait to see what she has in store for 2015.

Lupita Nyong’o In Christian Dior – 2014 Massachusetts Conference For Women

Lupita Nyong'o In Christian Dior - 2014 Massachusetts Conference For Women

Lupita Nyong’o and former United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton attended the 2014 Massachusetts Conference for Women at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on Thursday (December 4) in Boston, Massachusetts.

The actress wore a Dior pink trapeze dress with a Dior cream jacket styled with Dior Fine Jewelry and silver metallic Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.

I love that she continues to embrace colour. The pink and cream work so harmoniously together.

While the look is so very elegant, chic and event appropriate, I will admit my first thought was this would’ve made a great maternity red carpet look.

Lupita Nyong’o In Chanel Couture – Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Lupita Nyong'o In Chanel Couture - Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Glamour hosted their annual 2014 Women Of The Year Awards held at Carnegie Hall on Monday (November 10) in New York City, inviting their woman of the year and current cover girl, Lupita Nyong’o.

Of course she served up a high-fashion look, donning an off-white Chanel Fall 2014 Couture neoprene dress embroidered with gold, red and coral beads, paired with matching cycling shorts.

I love how considered the styling is, with gold Kurt Geiger ‘Anja’ pumps, shimmering gold eye makeup and a rouge lip to complement the beaded detailing.

It’s not easy to pull off this style of look; it takes a great deal of confidence and poise, which Lupita has in spades.

I’m already looking forward to her next look.

Lupita Nyong’o In Bally – Bally London Flagship Store Opening

Lupita Nyong’o In Bally - Bally London Flagship Store Opening

Lupita Nyong’o co-hosted the grand opening of Bally’s first London flagship store with a cocktail party on Wednesday (October 22) with Luke Evans.

After her all-black affair I was delighted to see her bring colour back to the red carpet.

The Oscar winner wore a Bally Spring 2015 look, working a mix of colours ranging from plum and saffron-yellow to green and ballet-pink.

I love how the autumnal hues blend effortlessly with the sunnier feminine pink accents; the colours just pop against her gorgeous radiant skin.

I’m less enthused about the hairstyle, but that glossy Bordeaux lip makes up for that.

Which look do you prefer: the Fitriani LBD or this colourful Bally look?

Lupita Nyong'o In Fitriani - Sindika Dokolo Art Foundation Dinner

Lupita Nyong’o made a long-awaited return to the red carpet for the Sindika Dokolo Art Foundation dinner held at the Café Royal on Saturday (October 18) in London, England.

The gorgeous actress, who is known for her love of colour and print, took a left turn down an all-black alley, wearing a Fitriani Spring 2015 LBD.

But of course it wasn’t any plain LBD; this creation was rendered with a beautiful ruffled layered bodice, nipped-in waist and voluminous skirt.

Black Paul Andrew pumps, a ladylike Givenchy bag and a sweet bejewelled Henri Bendel ‘Socialite’ headwrap rounded out her look.

The only thing that would’ve perfected this look in my eyes would’ve been a glorious rich lip colour.

Who Wore Ralph Lauren Better…Lupita Nyong’o or Nong Poy

Who Wore Ralph Lauren Better Lupita Nyong'o or Nong Poy

Lupita Nyong’o blew us all away during awards season, never more so than when she donned a red caped Ralph Lauren gown to the Golden Globe Awards.

I was very surprised to see it worn again just two months later by Nong Poy to the Hong Kong Film Awards

The Thai actress wore it equally well, keeping the styling to a minimum and adding a red lip.

Both women look outstanding; I should toss a coin as it is impossible to choose, but I will go for Lupita on this occasion as this was such a great moment which will go down in fashion history as one of her best red carpet looks.
