Front Row @ Gucci Resort 2019

The Gucci Cruise 2019 fashion show took place at the Promenade des Alyscamps in Arles, France on Wednesday (May 30), which saw a host of their official ambassadors and champions of the brand take their front row seats.

Salma Hayek Pinault: I have always maintained that I haven’t been a fan of runway Gucci for Salma, but this custom Gucci Prince Of Wales peak lapel suit I’m fully on board with. I adore the girlie touches such as the pink velvet trims and lace shirt with crystal detailing. I can’t say I’m a fan of the pink ‘Sylvie’ mini bag though. It feels like something Paris Hilton would wear.

Li Yuchun aka Chris Lee: After her successful outing at Cannes, the Asian performer wore a Gucci Fall 2018 look with an Americana touch thanks to the embroidered NY Yankees ™ applique. I know some of you aren’t fans of logo heavy looks, but I feel Li Yuchun pulls off the GG canvas shorts with relaxed ease without coming across as a logo maniac.

Soko: I have a feeling clown comparisons will be made when it comes to Soko’s Gucci Spring 2018 Elton John inspired yellow and black oversized check suit. If anyone has the personality to pull this off, it’s Soko.

Kering x Cannes Dinner Red Carpet Roundup

Black appeared to be the favourite colour of the evening at the Kering x Cannes dinner during the 2018 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 13). Celebrities joined Cate BlanchettChloë Sevigny and Kristen Stewart.

Salma Hayek Pinault: She didn’t get the black memo. Instead, she had a captivating moment in custom Gucci. It has a whimsical feel with the lace accents and accessories, but it still has an alluring finish. It would have been just as magical without the necklace.

Li Yuchun: Another one who plays by her own rule book, the singer demonstrated her sartorial skills in Gucci. The cognac trousers were a departure from her typical tailored black, but they offered a fresh take against the prim jacket and collared shirt.

Li Yuchun In Jean Paul Gaultier Couture – Yomeddine’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

If you like your fashion with a little bit more bite, Li Yuchun is the girl for you.

The singer may have worn a gown for the opening ceremony, but her natural creativity came out to play at the ‘Yomeddine’ Cannes Film Festival premiere this evening (May 9).

Her Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2018 Couture look has this strange dichotomy of feeling like it hails from the ’60s, yet is so fashion forward, which I believe comes mostly from the spiralling skirt.

After Julianne in Givenchy, this is my second favourite look, as I’m drawn to her uniqueness and the empowering qualities of this look.

Li Yuchun In Gucci – ‘Everybody Knows’ Cannes Film Festival Screening

Li Yuchun was one of the many attendees at the ‘Everybody Knows (Todos Lo Saben)’ screening and Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony this evening (May 8) in France. She joined Araya A. Hargate and Julianne Moore.

The singer-actress is a Gucci brand ambassador and was dressed in a custom gown from the designer for the event.

The voluminous frock is a wonderful fusion of her dark, moody, tailored aesthetic and Gucci’s whimsical maximalism.

It was also a look made to be seen from all angles thanks to the embellishment and pleated ruffles which have a feather-like effect. It was cleverly designed to consider the whole body as the dripping embellishment on the front is echoed with the heart design on the back.

Li Yuchun is Instaglam in Gucci

Li Yuchun aka Chris Lee, has been sharing a selection of images on her instagram which has me screaming….”no, save it for Cannes”.

In the first look the entertainer is wearing a gown with a recognisable silhouette courtesy of Gucci.

We’ve seen similar looks worn by Anya Taylor-Joy and Soko, but you won’t hear me complaining as these gowns are the stuff of whimsical day dreams.

Li Yuchun doesn’t usually do fairy tale looks, but this gown possesses plenty of the drama, and the blue hair adds a rock and roll spirit.

Front Row @ Gucci Spring 2018

As we might expect, the front row at the Gucci Spring 2018 show on Wednesday (September 20) during Milan Fashion Week was awash in a head-turning mix of bold prints and bright patterns from the label.

Dakota Johnson:
Starting the front row off with a bang, Dakota easily had one of my favoured looks in this colourful, pleated dress. I love the retro-forward, geometric print and the alluringly artsy mix of hues. The dragon-embroidered bag wouldn’t have been my first choice, though, for this look as it seemed so disparate from the mod mood.

Salma Hayek: Salma’s dress stood out for its prominent lack of pattern. But, it still charmed with the modern-Victorian lace detail and girlie bow at the waist that was very much in keeping with the star’s style.

Li Yuchun/Chris Lee: Never one to do fashion by halves, the entertainer presented a full-on fashion experience here. The cape may have been ‘Blind for Love,’ but I for one, don’t know where to look first between the Gucci signature print T-shirt, intricately patterned skirt, knee socks, and booties—not to mention the ear muffs. This was a performance piece, if nothing else.
