Kylie Jenner Goes Backless for the LACMA Gala
Kylie Jenner attended the 2026 LACMA Art+Film Gala on Saturday evening, wearing a gown that should have been an easy win. So why am I feeling so underwhelmed?
We have seen some incredible Ashi Studio Couture gowns recently, courtesy of Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Dua Lipa and Zendaya. And while Kylie’s gown from the label’s Fall 2026 Couture collection deserves to be in that company, I’m reluctant to say the same about her overall presentation.
The animal-inspired print is stunning, especially against her skin tone, but she simply doesn’t sell this dress to me. That’s not to say she needed a swirling organza cape like Anya Taylor-Joy, but give me something. Flirt with the camera. Make me believe you actually want to be there.
It’s a beautiful gown, but overall feels completely lifeless here.
I also wish she had worn her hair up.
And one final thought: I wonder if she found that oversized tassel bouncing against her bum all night as annoying as I imagine it would be.
