Sophie Okonedo’s ‘Clarissa’ Premiere Look Is Bittersweet

Sophie Okonedo attended the Clarissa premiere at Vue West End during the BFI London Film Festival this evening.

If there’s one actress whose red carpet style I rarely question, it’s Sophie. Her fashion choices are consistently interesting, often unexpected, and she has a wonderful ability to make even the most unconventional designs work. Which is why I’m genuinely heartbroken by this yellow satin Prada gown.

The colour is gorgeous on Sophie, I love the twisted neckline, and the open back with its bow detail is beautiful. In fact, the back view almost makes me forget everything that’s happening at the front.

But the pulls along with all that creasing, completely ruins it for me. Satin is unforgiving, and unfortunately, every issue is on display here.

It’s frustrating because the design deserved better execution, and Sophie deserved better too.
