Meghan Markle Returns to a Winning Silhouette in Greta Constantine

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the David Foster Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Celebration in Victoria, British Columbia, this weekend.

I have always found Meghan’s style somewhat frustrating. She clearly has the means to make great choices, but sometimes the execution lets her down. The custom Harbison Studio gown she wore to this year’s Fifteen Percent Pledge Fundraising Gala is a prime example.

So when I saw her in this black one-shoulder draped dress by Canadian designer Greta Constantine, I was immediately enamoured by the asymmetrical silhouette and how well suited it was to the occasion.

It reminded me of her Balenciaga moments back in October, when clean lines, a simple silhouette and asymmetrical detailing proved to be a winning formula for Meghan. There is an ease to this style of dressing that works particularly well for her, and I would happily see her revisit it more often. And perhaps most importantly, the fit is impeccable.

The look also carried some royal history, as Meghan wore a pair of earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
