Meghan Markle Supports Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Balenciaga Debut During Paris Fashion Week

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, made her Paris Fashion Week debut much to everyone’s surprise, appearing unannounced at the Balenciaga Spring 2026 show to support the house’s new Creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli.

And what a debut it was — both for Meghan and for Piccioli. His Balenciaga collection brought emotion, elegance, and restraint — striking a thoughtful balance between legacy and modernity. Every look felt intentional, poetic, and beautifully crafted. I can’t wait to see how this vision unfolds in the Haute Couture chapter, and on the red carpet.

Meghan’s look mirrored those same sensibilities. She wore a custom Balenciaga sculptural ivory shawl-collar coat layered over a silk blouse and wide-leg trousers in matching tones. The ensemble was clean and architectural, yet softened by the fluid drape — an aesthetic perfectly aligned with Piccioli’s quiet redefinition of Balenciaga.

We’ve often had “fit issues” when it comes to Meghan’s past red carpet appearances, but this outing felt impeccably measured. The proportions were right, the tailoring precise, and the silhouette effortlessly commanding. If there was one minor adjustment I’d make, it would be to the accessories — a softer hue might have complemented the ivory palette more cohesively, maintaining the calm, tonal serenity of the look.

Overall, this was modern minimalism at its best: assured, elegant, and refreshingly unforced.

Later that evening, Meghan was photographed leaving her hotel in another custom Balenciaga look by Pierpaolo Piccioli — an elegant black dress with a single cape sleeve draped over her shoulder. Styled with pointed black heels, it was simple but incredibly refined.

A rare double win for the Duchess, and an equally strong beginning for Piccioli’s Balenciaga chapter.
