Daisy Edgar-Jones Wore McQueen Promoting ‘Sense and Sensibility’

Daisy Edgar-Jones has officially begun her press tour for Sense and Sensibility, in which she takes on the role of Elinor Dashwood, originally played by Emma Thompson in the 1995 adaptation.

The obvious expectation is that this tour will draw inspiration from the world of Jane Austen. Not in a costume sense, but through subtle references to the Georgian era in which Sense and Sensibility is set.

Her McQueen Fall 2026 pintucked floral silk-jacquard dress with chain detailing suggests that approach is already taking shape.

The empire waistline is the most immediate nod to the period, while the softly gathered silhouette echoes the romantic simplicity associated with Georgian dress. These aren’t references that announce themselves in the way Zendaya’s spiderweb motifs or Lexi Minetree’s all-pink Elle wardrobe did. They’re quieter, rewarding those who recognise the inspiration.

If this is the direction Daisy and her stylist Dani Michelle are taking, I’m intrigued to see how (if) the theme develops over the coming weeks.

McQueen Koko ivory-and-black leather pumps and Boucheron jewels completed her look.
