Ruth Wilson Wore Dior Haute Couture To ‘La Bataille De Gaulle: L’Âge De Fer’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Ruth Wilson attended the La Bataille De Gaulle: L’Âge De Fer Cannes Film Festival premiere, and I know what you’re thinking: why does this premiere suddenly have a luxury duvet theme after Adèle Exarchopoulos’ look?

The British actress wore a Dior Spring 2026 Haute Couture jacquard dress embroidered with a delicate cyclamen motif and finished with pink-and-green organza fringe. The drama came from the sculptural draped neckline, which almost resembled an oversized bow wrapping around her shoulders, giving the look a cocoon-like softness with a slightly surreal edge.

Likely to be an unpopular opinion, but I love this. Ruth is one of those actresses who has never approached red carpet dressing in a predictable way. There is always something slightly offbeat or unconventional in her choices, so the fact that she arrived in what essentially looks like couture drapery with fringe exploding from the neckline feels entirely on-brand.

Some might say the loose hair feels too undone against such a conceptual gown, but I actually think it works perfectly with the fluid, unstructured feel of the design. Anything too sleek or overly styled would have taken away from the slightly undone romanticism that makes this look so intriguing.
