Selena Gomez Wore Carolina Herrera To The ‘Marty, Life Is Short’ LA Premiere
Selena Gomez attended the LA premiere of Netflix’s Marty, Life Is Short held at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood on Wednesday.
The actress does not appear in the film, but she was there to support her friend and Only Murders in the Building co-star Martin Short.
Dressed in a Carolina Herrera crystal-embroidered midi dress from the Spring 2026 collection, the look felt appropriate for the occasion. Some may find it a touch mature, but we’ve already seen during the Only Murders in the Building premieres and press tour that Selena tends to lean into a more refined mode of dressing around her co-stars, and this felt like an extension of that approach.
That’s not to say this dress belongs on Helen Mirren (who would totally rock it), but it certainly sits far away from the playful Magda Butrym minis Selena has favoured in the past. There is a restraint to this look that works in the context of the event. Supporting Martin Short at the premiere of his Netflix special did not call for anything overtly youthful or attention-seeking, and this tapped into the mood perfectly.
I also appreciated the styling. The sleek bun, red lip, and black patent Christian Louboutin Miss Z Erozee ankle-strap pumps kept the finish sharp and elegant, while the Stephen Silver feathered diamond earrings and ring added just enough sparkle without overwhelming the dress.
The runway version featured tasseled heels, but Selena’s pump choice gave the look a cleaner, more timeless finish.
