An Unforgettable Evening Honouring Kerry Washington In Huishan Zhang
Kerry Washington was honoured at the Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s annual An Unforgettable Evening gala held in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.

You had mixed feelings about her Zuhair Murad look for the Imperfect Women LA premiere, but I have a feeling your response to this Huishan Zhang Fall 2025 dress will be far more unanimous.
I love this copper mini dress complete with a dramatic train. The colour stands out, which is exactly what you want on a night when you are being honoured. The silhouette is playful, which makes me feel nostalgic for Kerry’s earlier style moments.
However, this is also one of those designs that is destined to pick up dents throughout the evening. When you are hugging people, accepting an award, and standing alongside guests on the red carpet, that sculptural satin is bound to fold in. It is simply unavoidable.
But my biggest issue is the styling. What I would not give for bare legs, or at least skin-tone tights, paired with silver metallic pumps here. The black heels feel too heavy against the brightness of the copper satin and slightly dull the impact of the look.
I love the hair, with the flipped ends at the back subtly echoing the ’60s mood of the dress.

Jennifer Lopez did not walk the red carpet, but she was on hand to present the honour to Kerry. Considering Jennifer’s reputation as a scene-stealer, I was genuinely surprised to see her present such an understated look. Her black plunging dress layered under a satin-trimmed oversized blazer leaned fully into minimalist territory.
I’m not sure if we have entered a parallel universe or if Jennifer has simply decided to experiment with minimalist dressing. It’s a refreshing change of pace, although her makeup artist appeared to overcompensate, going noticeably heavy with the makeup.
Both styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn.
