Sydney Sweeney Wore Vintage Cecil Chapman To The Santa Barbara International Film Festival
Sydney Sweeney joined Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday, where she was also honoured with a Virtuosos Award.

We’ve seen celebrity stylist Molly Dickson deliver strong results while curating Keke Palmer’s archival wardrobe, and given the uneven direction of Sydney’s press tour looks for Christy, a shift in approach was badly needed.
That change may have arrived in the form of this 1952 Cecil Chapman dress, sourced from Timeless Vixen, made even more compelling by the fact that it was previously owned by Marilyn Monroe.
Chapman’s designs were known for their ability to flatter the feminine form through precise draping and luxurious fabrics, qualities that aligned perfectly with Monroe’s sensual, glamorous screen persona. That same visual language feels well suited to Sydney here. You may remember that the actress first paid homage to Marilyn at The Housemaid LA premiere back in December.
For a dress that is more than 70 years old, it has held up remarkably well, a testament to both its construction and the enduring appeal of its silhouette.
Some may argue that the colour sits too close to her hair tone, but I like this direction for Sydney. This was never about toning down her sex appeal, but about refining it and moving away from caricature.
Stylist: Molly Dickson.
