Angelina Jolie Wore Givenchy by Sarah Burton To The ‘Couture’ Paris Premiere

Angelina Jolie was back on the red carpet for the first time this year at the Paris premiere of Couture, held at the Pathé Palace on Monday evening.

This press tour hasn’t really delivered any statement or standout moments so far, as Angelina Jolie has largely remained committed to minimalist, understated dressing.

That changed in Paris, as she stepped out in a Givenchy by Sarah Burton silver sequin embroidered dress, cut low at the back and finished with a fringe hem.

I know. Finally. Glamour, and a colour other than black. This is the version of Angelina Jolie I have been waiting for.

And can we take a moment to appreciate just how seamless the illusion detailing is?

Is 2026 is shaping up to be the year where we stop seeing the underpinnings upstage the dress itself? This look proves just how effective it can be when done right.

Which makes the footwear all the more frustrating. The Givenchy Spiky black satin pumps felt completely out of place. In what universe do they belong here?

Could I choose to ignore them? Yes. But it’s frankly impossible. I would have even taken PVC pumps or peep toe mules over these.

While leaving the venue, we were given a far more cohesive look. Angelina changed into Givenchy by Sarah Burton Spring 2026 black tailored jacket, styled with a black leather Givenchy Antigona Vanity bag, and paired with the same spiky pumps that failed her on the red carpet.

And I hate to say it. I really hate to say it out loud. But this was the better look. That’s how much shoes can make or break a look for me.
