Emerald Fennell Wore Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood To The ‘Wuthering Heights’ London Premiere

Wuthering Heights director Emerald Fennell has been consistently on theme throughout this press tour, and her look for the London premiere last night was no exception.

Dressed in another Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood gown, the statement is immediate.

Gothic romanticism runs through the vivid red hue, reading as an untamed counterpoint to the bleak Yorkshire moors, a feeling reinforced by the rugged landscape recreated in the backdrop.

The silhouette, sharpened by Westwood’s signature corsetry and structured waist, echoes 19th-century dress codes, grounding the look firmly in Emily Brontë’s world. That sense of control is deliberately disrupted by the flowing skirt and trailing train, with a movement and volatility that mirror Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff’s turbulent emotional bond.

The choice of Westwood is also deliberately layered. A British designer for a London premiere feels entirely appropriate, while the house’s long-standing fascination with destructive love aligns closely with the film’s core themes. And on a more straightforward level, it remains a label in which Emerald consistently shines.

Then there is the necklace. A black opal, diamond, and platinum Cartier necklace, on special loan from Sotheby’s, unseen publicly for over 70 years. Its sense of rediscovery and haunting legacy feels perfectly attuned to a story obsessed with memory, ghosts, and the pull of the past, adding historical weight to the moment.

Perfection from head-to-toe.
