Juliette Binoche Wore Schiaparelli To The 2025 Hainan Island International Film Festival Closing Ceremony

If there’s one person quietly racking up air miles in 2025, it’s Juliette Binoche. She has clocked up more film festivals this year than just about anyone else, and it’s not accidental. From serving on the Cannes Film Festival jury in May to appearances at San Sebastián, Tokyo, Torino, the Red Sea International Film Festival, and now the Hainan Island International Film Festival, her presence has been both constant and purposeful.

The reason? In-I In Motion. The feature documentary marks her directorial debut, and she also stars in it. Rather than leaning on legacy alone, Juliette has taken the long route—showing up, speaking about the work, and treating the promotional trail with the same seriousness she brings to her performances.

Fashion has followed suit. And at this festival she wore a Schiaparelli Fall 2025 cape-style dress, softly gathered with embroidery framing the neckline. The fluidity of the cape and the pared-back construction gave the look a ceremonial quality that felt right for an international stage, while still remaining unmistakably modern.

It’s always a little disconcerting when you can’t see the arms, as your immediate thought is that the gown is too big, but judging by the lookbook, this is exactly how the dress is intended to fall.
