Juliette Binoche Wore Armani Privé To The San Sebastián Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Juliette Binoche arrived at the 2025 San Sebastián International Film Festival as a director—debuting her first film In-I in Motion. And while some fall into the trap of going ultra-minimal once they step behind the camera, Juliette thankfully swerved that cliché.

Instead, she reminded us why she’s long been a benchmark for elegance, choosing a gown you’ll instantly recognise from the Armani Privé Spring 2011 collection. Thirteen years later, this design still feels ahead of its time, and honestly, I wouldn’t blink if it reappeared another decade from now. That’s how futuristic its lines and sculptural details remain.

What delighted me most was the subtle update. The original was shown strapless—and we saw Andrea Riseborough wear it that way at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party—but Juliette’s off-the-shoulder version gave it a quiet reinvention. It feels both modest and modern, proving how a simple tweak can completely refresh a piece we’ve seen before.

And can we talk about the luminous quality? The blue and white column silhouette, with its exaggerated hip detail, is even more radiant under these lights.

TASAKI jewels completed her look.
