2025 British Independent Film Awards: Menswear Edition
Here is a roundup of the menswear moments from the 2025 British Independent Film Awards in London on Sunday — a night where the women weren’t the only ones bringing personality to the pink carpet. Between unexpected label choices, rich textures, and subtle styling twists, the men turned up ready to play.

Midnight Tailoring
Alexander Skarsgård arrived in custom Valentino by Alessandro Michele, proving that a sharp black suit can still hold its own when styled with imagination. The electric-blue satin shirt is the real headline here — we simply don’t see enough men choosing colour with this kind of confidence. The black bow tied the look together with a playful charm. Much like his Pillion press tour.

Unexpected Westwood
Paul Mescal delivered the biggest curveball of the night. I’ve long associated him with Gucci, so seeing him in Vivienne Westwood felt like a plot twist. The midnight-blue suit paired with a steel-blue silk lavallière shirt had that slightly undone, romantic Westwood charm. The Cartier pin was a neat finishing touch.

Clean Minimalism
Charles Melton kept things modern in a Louis Vuitton Pont Neuf suit styled without a tie. It gave the whole look a relaxed sleekness, and honestly, it suited him perfectly.

This what winner’s Look like
Jay Lycurgo, who took home Best Supporting Performance for Steve, wore a Dolce & Gabbana double-breasted tuxedo. The sculptural brooches set the look apart — did he know he was going to be the golden boy of the night?

Valentino Ease
Joseph Quinn chose a Valentino Resort 2026 suit, finished with a TAG Heuer watch. It had that soft, modern formality that suits him so well.

Pinstripe Switch-Up
Harris Dickinson, usually team Prada, surprised me by choosing Paul Smith. The half-breasted pinstripe suit from Spring 2026 brought a distinctly British sensibility to the carpet, which felt right for the occasion.

Tonal Greens
Tom Glynn-Carney also went the Paul Smith route, in a moss-green suit from Fall 2025. The tonal shirt and patterned pocket square made it more interesting than your standard tailoring.

All-Black, Clean Lines
Tom Blyth opted for a Dolce & Gabbana Sicilia suit worn with a black tank, giving the look a smoother, contemporary feel.
