Kate Hudson attended the Song Sung Blue premiere at Le Grand Rex this week, where the blue theme came to an end.

When it came to the Wicked: For Good press tour, I was begging for just one more look. But when it comes to this press tour, I’m hoping that this is the last look, if I’m honest.

I keep referencing that white caped Carolina Herrera moment because not only is it so fresh in the memory — as it was only a month ago — but it’s also the level that I wish she would return to, because seeing the downfall of my girl’s style in 4K is very depressing.

This Dolce & Gabbana sleeveless satin dress with the built-in balconette bra isn’t terrible — it’s actually the best of her three looks — but the bar had dropped so low that “not terrible” feels like faint praise.

The satin is fine, the silhouette fits, the styling is clean enough. But this doesn’t feel like Kate. There’s no personality, no spark of the woman who normally embraces glamour with such natural confidence.

I see Kate, but I don’t recognise Kate. And that’s the issue. It’s not that the dress is wrong — it’s that it isn’t her.

Here’s hoping her next outing brings the reset she deserves.

Stylist: Sophie Lopez.
