Ariana Grande Wore Givenchy by Sarah Burton To The ‘Wicked: For Good’ Paris Photocall

After teasing us with the ‘Wicked: One Wonderful Night’ television special, the press tour took flight, and the first stop could not have been staged anywhere more theatrical: the Palais Garnier (Paris Opera House) in Paris.

Ariana Grande and Cythina Erivo’s voices belong in rooms with velvet curtains and gold ceilings, so this setting felt deliciously aligned.

Ariana leaned fully into her Glinda era dressed in a custom Givenchy by Sarah Burton silk satin duchesse gown in a deeper fuchsia than the bubblegum tones we’ve seen her favour recently. It has that familiar Ariana formula we’ve seen throughout the last Wicked cycle — clean column lines, and a grand, sweeping back detail that moves like an operatic flourish rather than a cape. The colour immediately brought to mind the Louis Vuitton gown from the previous tour.

The only small quibble is the hem, which could’ve benefited from being tailored just a tad shorter to avoid those breaks along the skirt. But the overall impact remains intact: statuesque, theatrical, and a touch sentimental.

She finished with a neat updo adorned with a pink jeweled barrette, a matching fuchsia bag and Givenchy Spiky fuchsia satin pumps — the kind of tonal styling she loves, and it works.
