Menswear Midweek Red Carpet Roundup
Here are the menswear looks that caught my eye this week—some smooth, some questionable, all worth talking about.

Heads of State New York Premiere
Idris Elba can occasionally go rogue on the red carpet (who could forget his dentist-core phase?), but for the Heads of State premiere, he went classic in a Louis Vuitton black double-breasted suit. It was elevated with the LV Dynasty brooch and slick black patent leather boots. Yes, the trousers are a touch oversized, but that relaxed fit has always been part of his charm—and honestly, I wouldn’t change it.

Jurassic World: Rebirth New YOrk Premiere
Mahershala Ali stepped into summer with a cream Todd Snyder double-breasted suit, which was the most seasonally appropriate of the week. The seersucker fabric, though? I’m still on the fence. It’s giving Southern garden party more than dinosaur blockbuster, but it’s Mahershala—he can (just about) get away with it.

Jonathan Bailey continued his understated but considered press tour run in a look that blended tailored loungewear with red carpet ease. The black split-toe Tabi loafers by Maison Margiela were a bold move, bringing a flash of personality to his otherwise softly spoken look.

The Old Guard 2 LA Premiere
Chiwetel Ejiofor’s dunhill look was beautifully put together: an ecru Barathea Bourdon shawl lapel evening jacket paired with black trousers and leather loafers. Very sleek, but I did get momentarily distracted by the Edwardian Henley-style undershirt. I’m not sure if it is working for me.

And finally, Henry Golding. My goodness. In a navy Giorgio Armani double-breasted suit paired with a baby blue satin shirt, he delivered the kind of suave, effortless charm that practically demands a Bond audition. Just saying.
