Vanity Fair EE Rising Star Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Vanity Fair EE Rising Star Party

The cold weather wasn’t going to stop people from celebrating the Vanity Fair EE Rising Star party on Thursday (January 31) in London, England.

Laura Carmichael: The English actress embraced the clean lines of Victoria Beckham in a Spring 2019 ensemble, which was previously worn by Rosie Huntington Whiteley. The different colours and silhouettes might not be what some were expecting but it’s intriguingly off-kilter.

Henry Golding: The ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actor cut a sharp figure in a monochromatic black suit and white shirt. It had timeless appeal.

Ella Eyre: She injected some sunshine in Marques’Almeida Spring 2019. The playful drama was heightened with a Vivienne Westwood bag and Sergio Rossi shoes. It’s not the best ensemble for the season, but we can’t fault its cheeriness.

2019 SAG Awards Menswear Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 SAG Awards Menswear

Here’s a look at the handsome fellas at the 2019 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 27) in LA.

Mahershala Ali: The ‘Green Book’ outstanding supporting actor winner cut a suave profile in this riff on an aubergine tuxedo by Ermenegildo Zegna XXX with the brocade effect adding a layer of richness to the ensemble. I like the relaxed elegance of his Bruno Magli smoking slippers and the white bow tie for its crisp, clean finish.

Henry Golding: The Midas touch was definitely rubbing off on the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actor, who lived up to his last name with this gold jacket. Opting out of a tie was the right move here, as the Tom Ford ensemble doesn’t seem try-hard even with its metallic sheen.

Chadwick Boseman: The ‘Black Panther’ star continues to impress, as this fancy Ermenegildo Zegna XXX jacket in a leafy tribal pattern styled with the series of lapel pins did the trick — no tie required. Christian Louboutin shoes completed the look.

Menswear End Of The Week Red Carpet Roundup

Here is the final roundup for the fellas who have been showcasing a range of styles from LA, Melbourne to Paris this week.

Cole Sprouse: This double-breasted suit would’ve come off as pretty standard had it not been for the injection of blood-red via his turtleneck.

Troye Sivan: The peformer attended the NGV Gala 2018 in Melbourne wearing an ivory and black trimmed Valentino look especially designed for him by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli. I love the reinterpreted blazer, which instantly feels modern with the cape detail. This is a shoe-in for BDOTW.

Stephan James: Kiki Layne may be getting all the plaudits for her style, but that should also be attributed to Stephan too. I mean, does they guy even own a black or navy suit? Once again he embraced colour, and print, in a way that was ensured that he would stand out for all the right reasons in Grayscale. David Yurman accessories completed his look.

Variety 10 Actors To Watch And Newport Beach Film Festival Fall Honors

Variety 10 Actors To Watch And Newport Beach Film Festival Fall Honors

Rising stars stepped out at the Variety 10 Actors To Watch And Newport Beach Film Festival Fall Honors on Sunday (November 11) in Newport Beach, California.

Gemma Chan: The British beauty’s Louis Vuitton ensemble was sweetly feminine but wasn’t saccharine thanks to the inky leather.

Henry Golding: The dashing effect of the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actor’s Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2018 ensemble was marred by the too-long trousers.

Cailee Spaeny: Bringing a vintage mood, the ‘On the Basis of Sex’ actress sported rich red Valentino Resort 2019 separates with black tights. Her crop suited the mood perfectly.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

We couldn’t let the week go by without checking on these leading men..starting with Eddie Redmayne.

Eddie Redmayne: The British actor is the only person, excluding Tom Hiddleston, who can make me consistently swoon upon sight of him in a luxe Polo Ralph Lauren velvet tuxedo. He was by far the best dressed at the 2019 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, despite him stating that his 8-month son isn’t allowing him time to get much sleep.

Jared Leto: We expected Jared Leto to attend the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala, but did we expect this white satin lapel Gucci suit with a matching hat? No, I actually expected more colour from him, so this served as quite a surprise. I have moments when I love this and moments when I want him to remove that hat.

Timothée Chalamet: At the Hollywood Film Awards the young actor wore a sharply tailored Louis Vuitton suit, but I was more intrigued by the embellished shirt, and thankful for shoes over sneakers.

Ralph Lauren 50th Anniversary Event

Ralph Lauren 50th Anniversary Event

Star-studded to say the least, Ralph Lauren’s 50th anniversary celebration was hosted in grand style with a runway show and black-tie dinner during New York Fashion Week on Friday (September 7). In homage to the legendary designer, all the beauties (and the boys, too) were clad in their Ralph Lauren finest.

Blake Lively: The actress continued her run of wearing suits from her ‘A Simple Favor’ promo tour with this tux-and-tails look. I loved it all, save for her hair, which I would have preferred in sleeker form to match the sartorial mood.

Jessica Chastain: A vision in sunny yellow, the actress would not be missed in this chiffon frock that was an enchanting, light-as-air confection.

Anne Hathaway: Like Blake, Anne was similarly clad in a menswear-inspired number that she feminized with her lightened locks, silver clutch, and stilettos.
