Jennifer Lopez Wore Eight Looks Hosting The 2025 AMAs
The 2025 American Music Awards may have been low on celebrity attendance and even lower on acceptance speeches, but it was anything but uneventful thanks to Jennifer Lopez, who gave us a masterclass in how to dominate an awards show solo. With eight outfit changes and a six-minute dance medley honouring the year’s biggest hits, JLo essentially turned the AMAs into her own personal Super Bowl halftime show—minus the football, thankfully.

First up, she set the tone with drama. Before even dancing a single step, she emerged wearing a black organza coat with satin lapels from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2024 collection.

This was ripped off on stage to reveal—you guessed it—a catsuit. Because it’s not a JLo performance unless there’s catsuit involved. The NGO by Michael Ngo number had all the sex appeal of Britney’s Toxic catsuit, but reimagined for 2025 as a fully upgraded motherboard fantasy. Circuit boards strategically covered the essentials as she embodied a Femme Bot in her prime, twirling and high-kicking her way through Dance Again before launching into hits from Kendrick Lamar to Chappell Roan.

Look two was easily the most visually poetic. Wearing Miss Sohee Spring 2025 Couture she swept onstage in a turquoise blue silk duchess opera cape that was basically couture origami. It was heavily embellished with Korean peonies, butterflies, wildflowers… and kittens. But the moment soured slightly with the gown beneath. While I adored the Korean cloud Swarovski crystal-embroidered halter neck gown, the unnecessarily modified thigh-high slit just felt jarring. The drama was already there; we didn’t need to up the ante with more leg and thigh.

If one slit is good, two must be better—or so the logic seemed with her gold sequin Mônot dress featuring two hip-high slits. Was it dramatic? Yes. Was this classic JLo? Also yes.

From there, she moved into a more architectural moment, wearing a blue strapless sequin dress with exaggerated hips. Now, if you thought this was Balenciaga—having seen similar versions on Salma Hayek, Katy Perry and Demi Moore—you’re not alone. But this was actually from David Koma’s Fall 2025 collection, styled with Shipra Jewelry. JLo knows her angles, and this one had plenty.

Her Bronx and Banco Fall 2023 fringed dress brought a much-needed burst of energy, practically made for a Vegas stage with its movement.

Then it was back to sultry territory with a black sequin halterneck cut-out jumpsuit by Mônot that dipped scandalously low at the back. Marli Jewelry added more sparkle to this already high-glam look.

For her final act, she switched gears into something softer. The tan chiffon Defaïence cut-out gown she wore on the winners walk step-and-repeat felt like a breath of desert air—flowy, elegant, and a relatively subdued note to end on after such an explosive style journey.
While the AMAs may have been light on actual winners, Jennifer Lopez made sure we left well-fed on fashion. Eight outfits, zero apologies, and one undeniable reminder that JLo is not slowing down anytime soon.
Stylist: Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn.
