Simone Ashley joined her fellow L’Oréal ambassadors for the closing ceremony of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, and if you’re anything like me, there was a slow, suspenseful scroll to the bottom of the photo. Why? Because Prada and hemlines don’t exactly have the best track record.

But breathe a sigh of relief—this one made it. The dress skimmed the sole of her heel, avoiding any of those distracting dents that have become an unfortunate calling card for some of Prada’s custom creations.

Now that we’ve cleared that hurdle, let’s talk about the dress itself. A sleek, minimalist red column gown that let Simone’s statuesque beauty do all the talking. The cut was clean, the colour was electrifying, and the effect? Flawless. An effortless whisper of elegance amid the noise, as Cannes so often calls for.

Two looks, two wins. Simone’s Cannes run was short, sharp, and striking—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
