Elle Fanning Wore Givenchy To L’Oreal’s Lights On Women’s Worth Event
Long-reigning queen of delicate pastels and storybook gowns, Elle Fanning flipped the script at the L’Oréal Lights on Women Award on Friday night, leaving behind the tulle and embellishments she’s known for.

Instead, Elle gave us executive edge in a black Givenchy Fall 2025 skirt suit. On paper, this could have read corporate—but the floating shoulders stopped it from heading into office attire territory. That sculptural silhouette gave the look its bite. It’s all in the architecture.
And then she turned around. The deep V-back of the jacket was already a detail to admire, but the finishing touch?

Her plait, neatly accented with a red bow, cascading down the open back.
Elle has always had a strong relationship with the Sarah Burton—she wore both the first and third custom pieces from the Givenchy on Oscars night, after all. Burton captured Elle’s signature girlish charm so well. But this move shows that Elle isn’t interested in being typecast as Cannes’ resident fairytale heroine. She’s got range, and she’s flexing it.
This isn’t the Elle Fanning we’re used to at Cannes, and that’s precisely why I loved it. A fashion curveball if you will.
