Mia Threapleton Wore Oscar de la Renta To ‘The Phoenician Scheme’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Mia Threapleton made one seriously elegant debut at the Cannes Film Festival for Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme, and if this custom Oscar de la Renta gown is any indication, we might just be witnessing the rise of a new red carpet favourite.

The daughter of Kate Winslet and director Jim Threapleton wore an emerald green strapless gown ticked all the boxes—custom fit (hallelujah), sculpted bodice, dramatic overskirt, and those golden leaves delicately adorning the fabric, nodding to the house’s archives while keeping it current. It was rich, refined, and just theatrical enough for a Cannes premiere.

Honestly, nothing brings me joy like a gown that actually fits the wearer like it was meant for them—because it was. Why this isn’t the industry standard, I’ll never understand, but Mia’s look was a glowing reminder of how good it can be when designers get it right.

Jewellery was kept minimal—just a Chopard bracelet and earrings—which was a smart move, letting the dress take its well-deserved spotlight.

Could Mia be our Mikey Madison of 2025/26? I’m manifesting it now. This was poised, considered, and impactful without trying too hard. I’m keeping my eye on her.
