Sarah Snook’s Understated Met Gala Makeup

In a sea of high-octane beauty at the 2025 Met Gala, Sarah Snook’s look was clean, sculpted, and refreshingly understated. Wearing a structured and sophisticated anOnlyChild suit, Sarah brought refined power dressing to the steps of the Met—paired with a flawless, barely-there glam by celebrity makeup artist Mary Wiles.

Mary described the vision perfectly: “For Sarah’s look we wanted to keep the makeup clean and understated, as the anOnlyChild suit is such a strong look. We still needed to contour and have definition across the face in natural tones to enhance Sarah’s beautiful features.”

The base was kept natural and luminous using The Uniform Tinted Mineral Sunscreen in Shade 30, followed by The Minimalist in Chiffon, which gave skin a fresh, real-skin finish. Mary worked with Flush Balm in Cheeky and Day Glow in Cava for a subtle warmth and that lit-from-within highlight, while Bronze Balm in Clay added just the right amount of contour to give definition without veering into anything too heavy-handed.

Brows were softly structured using Brow 1990 Pencil and Brow 1980 Pomade in Taupe, keeping them natural but polished. The eyes were softly defined with Solo Shadows in Vachetta and Midcentury, and a swipe of Clean Lash Mascara gave fluttery lift without feeling overdone.

For lips, Mary lined with Signature Lip Liner in Coupe and filled in with Signature Lip in Classic, a timeless red that brought a whisper of drama and elegance—just enough to balance the look without overpowering it.

This look was a masterclass in restraint. Proof that you don’t have to shout to make a statement—you just need a perfect suit, the right red lip, and a glowing complexion that feels entirely your own.
