Celebrities in Marc Jacobs at the 2025 Met Gala

If there was one table guaranteed to embrace the Superfine: Tailoring Black Style theme with unbothered flair and a strong sense of campy sophistication, it was Marc Jacobs’. When Rihanna is leading your Met Gala table as its undisputed icon-in-residence (and glowing mama-to-be), you already know everyone else better show up with the same energy. And thankfully, they did. Jacobs’ guests delivered a mix of theatrical tailoring, exaggerated silhouettes, and bold statements that made it impossible not to stop and stare.

Big bow energy and even bigger pants

Tracee Ellis Ross can always be trusted to give us an avant-garde moment without losing an ounce of her personality. Her custom Marc Jacobs look had all the exaggerated proportions we’ve come to love from both Tracee and Jacobs. From the dandy cut-away jacket and ascot-style top to the cummerbund bow-belt that trailed dramatically behind her, this was pure performance art. The sculptural trousers? Fabulous — but they needed just a centimetre or two off the hem. The sketch had it right. Still, with a custom Stephen Jones fedora tilted just so, Tracee gave us bold, unapologetic fashion — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Catsuit couture

Doja Cat’s ongoing feline-fashion obsession at the Met Gala continued in the best way possible. Her Marc Jacobs custom blazer-bodysuit hybrid was pure spectacle — think pinstripe businessman meets Grace Jones club goddess. The Swarovski crystal stripes glistened under the lights, while that velvet animal-print waist panel cinched her already hourglass frame into something cartoonishly perfect. And then there’s the hair. Teased to fantasy heights by Vernon François, it was an afro worthy of a disco throne. The Marc Jacobs Kiki stiletto boots were just the cherry on top of this glam rock sundae. David Webb jewels completed her look.

Valentina Ferrer and J Balvin attend the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" in Marc Jacobs

polka dot precision

Valentina Ferrer delivered one of the night’s cleanest architectural silhouettes in her sculptural Marc Jacobs gown. The black and burgundy colour-blocked dots had a retro flair, but it was the flawless fit that sold it. No dents, no distractions — just perfection in motion. This is how you let structure speak.

Dandy in Colour

J. Balvin brought colour, tailoring, and charm in his pink Marc Jacobs suit. With so many men defaulting to the black suit zone, this look was a breath of fresh air. The custom Stephen Jones fedora in pink with a burgundy grosgrain band tied him beautifully to Valentina, proving once again that coordination can be chic without being cheesy. From top to toe, Balvin understood the brief — and had fun with it.
