Nicola Coughlan Wore Carolina Herrera To The BAFTA Television and Television Craft Nominees’ Party
Nicola Coughlan and her commitment to the colour black is nothing short of impressive at this point. The Irish actress hit up the BAFTA Television and Television Craft Nominees’ Party at The V&A in London, cloaked in yet another black ensemble—this time courtesy of Carolina Herrera.
This look, for me, falls into what I like to call the “slow scroll” category. You know the one: you start at the top thinking, “Alright, this is fine, maybe a bit plain,” but you keep scrolling in hopeful anticipation of something—anything—worth getting excited about. And boom. Just when I was about to swipe away, the back saved the day.
A gigantic bow slapped on the back of what I hesitate to even call a dress (it’s giving “jacket with attitude”) stole the show. That bow then spilled into a frothy train of black tulle, and suddenly we’ve got drama. Whimsical, flouncy, “peek-at-me-from-the-side” drama.
It’s the sartorial definition of business at the front, party at the back—and it’s that party in the rear that’s keeping me invested. The embellished clutch made an effort to sparkle things up at the front, but honestly? It just can’t compete with the architectural flair happening from the side view onwards.
Nicola, as always, knows how to give us a little twist.
