Celebrities in Louis Vuitton for the 2025 Oscars
Nicolas Ghesquière once again had a strong presence on the Oscars red carpet, dressing six celebrities—including Cynthia Erivo—in Louis Vuitton. While some looks were effortless wins, others left me scratching my head.

Shimmering Simplicity Done Right
I’m not sure if you’ve been keeping count, but I am. Emma Stone is officially 3 for 3 in Louis Vuitton since the start of 2025. The actress looked stunning in a custom hand-knitted, body-conscious tank top gown fully embroidered with rhinestones. There’s an ease to her fashion choices lately that feels fresh. Do we have her new hairstyle to thank for this newfound pep in her step? Or has she simply fallen back in love with fashion? Either way, I’m so here for it.

A Touch of Embroidery Goes a Long Way
The delicacy and detail of the embroidered halter neckline sold Ana de Armas’ Louis Vuitton black silk crêpe gown, as it completely elevated the simplicity of the design. Sometimes, all it takes is one well-executed feature to take a dress from forgettable to fabulous.

When Lace and 3D Skirts Collide
I love a bold design moment, but Stacy Martin’s Louis Vuitton black lace and silver sequin embroidered V-neck slip gown with a 3D-shaped skirt was a little too much of a hard sell for me. There was a heaviness to the lower half that didn’t quite match the delicacy of the top.

When Less Really is More
Vic Carmen Sonne’s Louis Vuitton orange sequin embroidered draped gown may have been simpler in design compared to the Stacy’s, but it was far more effective. The vibrant colour, the subtle draping, and the effortless elegance made this one of the best of the bunch.

A Signature Louis Vuitton Moment
There wouldn’t be a Louis Vuitton Oscars roundup without a dramatic, sculptural design, and Ava DuVernay delivered just that in a Louis Vuitton grey gown accented with a cape. The silhouette was powerful, the styling was on point, and the diamond jewels and LV clutch provided the finishing touch.
