Rihanna Wore Alexander McQueen To Celebrate Fenty Beauty’s Soft’Lit Foundation
There is one thing you can never fault Rihanna on, and that’s showing up to promote her business ventures.
A fortnight ago it was for the FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneakers launch, this weekend she celebrated the new Fenty Beauty Soft’Lit Foundation in Los Angeles, with a host of beauty influencers including the lady who basically taught me what I know about makeup, Jackie Aina.
After Zendaya wore a look from the Alexander McQueen Fall 2024 collection, I said that moment would be an opening of the floodgates, as we would see more from Seán McGirr’s Alexander McQueen on the red carpet.
And here we are.
I know a lot of people weren’t enamoured by Seán McGirr’s Alexander McQueen Fall 2024 collection, but I always feel that the true test is to see how the pieces work on the red carpet.
It passed the first test with Zendaya, but not so much with Rihanna.
My issue with this calf-hair dress isn’t the colour, because there was clearly a nearly nude, or golden colour theme going on here, where even the hair and custom Manolo Blahnik Prisca sandals melted into her skin.
I wasn’t sold on the dress itself.
It’s a little underwhelming for a McQueen creation, especially a custom creation, which turned out to be a longer version of a runway look, and the dress appears to be bit too big for her.
