Viola Davis Wore Atelier Versace To The Clooney Foundation for Justice’s ‘The Albies’

It was date night for Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon who attended the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s The Albies held at the New York Public Library on Thursday (September 28).
Viola was a vision in lilac.
The gasp was long and loud when I saw the EGOT grace the red carpet in this Atelier Versace custom creation.
Donatella did her homework on this one, because colours within the purple family have always served Viola well.
The Dior Haute Couture gown for the 2023 NAACP Image Awards and the Armani Prive gown for the 2017 TIME Gala spring to mind, as does the Stella McCartney gown at the 2023 BAFTAs (even though I didn’t like the dress itself).
Purple remains a regal hue for the legendary actress, so I love how this was a much softer shade, evoking a more romantic air.
What I love most about this moment, is that every time Viola steps out onto the red carpet, her team unlocks a new level.
I’m in awe.
Julius was very handsome in his Versace suit.
