Rihanna Wore Y/PROJECT To The CinemaCon Presentation of ‘Smurfs’

Rihanna returned to the red carpet during CinemaCon on Thursday (April 27) in Las Vegas, Nevada, where it was announced that she will voice the role of Smurfette in the upcoming live-action film ‘Smurfs.’

Considering Smurfette’s characteristics are that she’s sassy and cute, a little mischievous and funny, Rihanna fits the bill perfectly.  I can’t wait to see if Smurfette is going bajan, or if Rihanna will adopt a different accent.

Rihanna’s maternity style has – for the most part – consisted of her either bearing her bump, or her bump being covered by the sheerest of fabrics, so I was surprised to see her rock this Y/PROJECT Fall 2023 overdyed look.

Individuality has always been at the core of Y/PROJECT, which is shown in the playful proportions and thought-provoking silhouette – particularly in the over-the-knee boots on this occasion.

Some might be reminded of the days when oversized looks were Rihanna’s preferred choice, others will be happy the singer went for something different with her maternity style, while others will love the fact that she opted for something blue considering her character.

I have a toe in all three camps.
