The Olivier Awards 2023 Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from The Olivier Awards 2023 which was held at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday (April 2) in London.

I was stunned by Beverley Knight. Who knew she had this in her locker?

Taking home the best supporting actress in a musical for her portrayal of suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst in the musical ‘Sylvia,’ Beverley channelled her inner Kim Kardashian wearing a custom latex long sleeve gown from Atsuko Kudo.

For some it might be too much for a theatre awards ceremony, or others might say that the Alexis Bittar jewelry was overkill, but she surprisingly sold the look to me.

I love how this was so bold and unexpected for her, and that she pulled off without this look veering into tacky territory.

If I could change one thing it would be removing that corset.

I never had Golda Rosheuvel down as a monogram woman.

We’ve seen her create magic on the red carpet in the past.  But considering her usual prowess, this Valentino Toile Iconographe print kaftan dress didn’t set my senses on fire.

That’s not to say that the ‘Bridgerton’ star doesn’t look good, as she does.

Perhaps I need to factor in that she was a presenter and not a nominee.  

I just know she can deliver more.

Cush Jumbo gilded gown the red carpet wearing a Spring white Valentino Pre-Fall 2023 gown which looked a tad too long for her, and I don’t think that layer is flattering.

Dita von Teese looked radiant wearing a signature embellished gown from Jenny Packham, which she of course styled with a Louboutin clutch which has always been her go-to.

I’m glad she didn’t opt to wear black as this is a refreshing change of pace for her. 

High-low gowns were trending on this red carpet, as Hannah Waddingham followed Jodie Comer by giving us legs and length at this event.

Are we about to be heading into a season of Spring velvet? 

If this Costarellos Fall 2022 eggplant off the shoulder gown and Rachel Weisz’s Valentino gown is anything to go by, the answer appears to be yes.

I’m in two minds about this.

Hannah is very much a gala gown kinda woman so one part of me wishes it was full length, but I love how the high-low style plays into how she loves to have fun on the red carpet.
