Front Row @ Bottega Veneta Salon 03 Detroit

‘Salon’ is Bottega Veneta’s main ready-to-wear presentation and part of a new concept through which they present collections.
It was introduced in October 2020 in London followed by Berlin in April 2021.
For Salon 03 the brand headed to Michigan Theatre in Detroit, where they invited a slew of celebrities who were all dressed head-to-to in Bottega Veneta.
Why Detroit? Daniel Lee, creative director of Bottega Veneta, first visited Detroit six years ago and has wanted to collaborate with Detroiters creatively ever since.
When I saw Mary J Blige in the front row wearing this Bottega Veneta Fall 2021 look, the first words to come to mind were, “of course.”
I mean who else – except Rihanna – would wear this runway look? It was practically made for the singer who loves this type of dramatic look which includes fur fashion.
When it comes to the question, “is this real fur?”
Back in September Kering released a statement saying that their houses were going fur free from Fall 2022, so with regards to this look, I can’t say with any certainty as this collection dropped before the statement.

I’ve always been fascinated by the knitwear techniques as my mother’s best friend is an avid knitter, and she can create the most amazing pieces from scratch with nothing more than an idea in her mind, so I found myself falling in love with Slick Woods Bottega Veneta Fall 2021 strapless red fringed dress.
This would’ve made for a great Megan Thee Stallion AMAs look – boots included.

I was glad to see Sasha Lane wearing a look that didn’t have an LV label.
Some might feel that she should’ve gone for some of the more dramatic pieces from this Bottega Veneta Fall 2021 collection, but her styling elevated this silver paillette dress for me.

If you are surprised to see Lil’ Kim style her purple feathered sweater Bottega Veneta Fall 2021 dress with feathered neon-yellow accessories, this must be the first time you are seeing the larger than life character on the red carpet as she lives for this kinda drama.
I like how she opted to go extra. The only thing not working for me was the green Bottega Veneta belt. I wish it had been purple.

While I await Zazie Beetz’s next promo tour, this moment wearing a cut-out Bottega Veneta Fall 2021 dress will have to do.
It doesn’t feel like her usual style, but these events are a great time to experiment with new styles.
