Front Row @ Versace Pre-Fall 2019

Pre-Fall collections are perhaps seen as the less interesting or sexy of all the collections presented, but now it seems that they are just as important at Fall and Spring, with big budget shows and A-list front rows.

Following Dior Men and Valentino last week, Versace presented their Pre-Fall 2019 collection in New York City on Sunday (December 2).

Diane Kruger: What a way to showcase your post-baby figure, in a Versace Spring 2019 mini no less. I can’t say the chunky belt is working for me here, but she’s still looking every inch a yummy mummy.

Ciara: While this Spring 2019 Versace suit showcases the brand tailoring, I would’ve loved something a bit more extravagant from Ciara, but the Versace medallion necklace and ruffle hem did prevent this from being a snooze.

Blake Lively: The actress shelved her favoured suit for an iconic Versace chainmail dress from the Spring 1999 collection. I love the ’90s spirit imbued in this look from the dress to the bountiful curls. I just wish she’d eased up on the jewels.

Tiffany & Co. Celebrates 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection

Tiffany & Co Celebrates 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection

Kim Kardashian West, Mary J. Blige, Rachel Brosnahan, Priyanka Chopra, and Zoe Kravitz were on hand to help Tiffany & Co. Celebrate the 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection on Tuesday (October 9) in New York City.

Kim Kardashian West: As always, I’m getting a strong case of déjà vu. She may not have worn this Rick Owens draped dress before, but this entire look, right down to the Pocahontas hair feels familiar. A Tiffany & Co. choker completed her look.

Mary J. Blige: The Queen of R&B was back wearing a green Cushnie Spring 2019 jade off-shoulder two-piece attached with some fringed netting. Not only did she match her shoes to her dress, but she also matched the look with emerald jewels for a truly glamorous look.

Rachel Brosnahan: It’s not often Rachel opts for bright colours, so I was instantly drawn to her in this Carolina Herrera Resort 2019 gown. However, I wasn’t so taken with the Tiffany & Co. necklace here, as I feel like the floral embroidery provides all the detail this look needed.

Mary J Blige In Roberto Cavalli – 2018 Black Girls Rock! Awards

Mary J Blige In Roberto Cavalli - 2018 Black Girls Rock! Awards

Janet Jackson wasn’t the only music legend to hit the red carpet for the Black Girls Rock! 2018 Awards on Sunday (August 26) in Newark, New Jersey, Mary J Blige did too.

Roberto Cavalli hasn’t felt much like Roberto Cavalli until this animal print Fall 2018 dress hit the red carpet with cut-outs for good measure.

I kinda admire MJB for not modifying the look. Especially when there was also a reveal with the skirt.

Styling the look with matching L’Dezen by Payal Shah earrings and diamond rings from Marli New York and Kallati, does this have you screaming “Wakanda Forever” or “it’s a no from me?”

Mary J Blige In Fendi & Gucci – 2018 Essence Festival

Mary J Blige started 2018 as an Oscar nominated actress, but this weekend she returned to her roots as a music performer for the 2018 Essence Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Convention Center – Day 1: It only takes a few celebrities to be photographed in classic designer logo items for them to become “trendy” again, and the power of logomania is very much focused on Fendi at the moment. While this look felt authentically MJB, I thought the shoes were a tad overkill. You may remember that Olivia Munn sported this same look recently.

Louisiana Superdome – Day 2: On Saturday (July 7) we saw the Yonkers Queen of Hip-Hop Soul reborn rocking a Dapper Dan custom Gucci logo three-piece leather look which she wore with custom red Giuseppe Zanotti open-toe booties. This takes me back to 1992 when the singer burst onto the scene with ‘What’s the 411?’ The labels may not have been Gucci, but the swagger and attitude are very much the same. Loving this iconic moment.

Mary J Blige In Atelier Versace – 2018 Met Gala

Mary J Blige showed up at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 7) in New York City.

This custom Atelier Versace outfit with L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond earrings is very much in her wheelhouse and is in keeping with the theme thanks to the colour palette.

It’s sensual, edgy and has a goddess effect. Like a lot of her looks, it also has fantastic dynamism from the curling lines of the embellishment on the bodice and boots.

Mary J Blige In Versace – 33rd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Mary J Blige was back on the red carpet following her impressive awards season run, joining Andra Day for the 33rd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday (April 14) in Cleveland, Ohio.

The singer wore a midnight blue Versace gown cut with a sensual one shoulder and daring thigh-high slit.

I love how the look fits close-to-body to showcase her gorgeous figure and how the Swarovski crystals accent the waist to give this signature gown a new dimension.
