Amy Adams Wore Thom Browne To The ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ LA Premiere

Amy Adams joined Amandla Stenberg on the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Wednesday (September 22).
If we ever needed a reminder of just how unique Thom Browne’s designs are, we saw that at the 2021 Met Gala thanks to Erykah Badu, Pete Davidson and Mj Rodriguez.
So, seeing this custom Thom Browne navy herringbone corset dress featuring matching navy silk faille buttons, I’m kind of brought back down to earth…with a bump.
It doesn’t have to have embellishments, it doesn’t have to have a train, but it does have to be a near perfect fit, and for a custom dress I wasn’t as impressed as I should to be.
The fit from the hips up is off. Which for me means the corset wasn’t doing it’s job, as that area should be flawless.
Also, the dress is about an inch too long which is why there’s a step near the hem.
Overall, it’s a little underwhelming for me considering this is a designer who creates the most magical pieces.
Custom to me means designing to the clients specifications, and this is a very true reflection of Amy Adams style right now.
She hasn’t excited me for some time, and this dress is another to add to her ‘meh’ list.
