The most creative award at The BRIT Awards 2021 will definitely go to Griff, who wore three looks on the night; one of which was her own creation.
The British singer of Jamaican (father) and a Chinese (mother) heritage wore what might just be my favourite look, as her Susan Fang Fall 2021 dress was by far the most unique.
While so many singers were drawing on inspiration from the past, her style was more fashion forward, as this dress made with a new sustainable textile innovation by Fang called ‘Air-Ribbon,’ a zero waste-making process that creates tiny balloon-type surface textures in coloured tulle and ribbon.
The beaded headpiece that resembles splashes of water frozen in time, floating in midair was the perfect way to fashionable ensure social distancing.
Dominic Jones jewels completed her look.
As you would imagine, the Susan Fang look was way too precious to be seated in an arena, so she changed into a tired piece from Simone Rocha’s Fall 2021 collection.
It’s clear that Griff loves voluminous shapes.
While there is a little bo peep feel to this dress on the petite singer, the leather, embellished harness prevents the look from feeling too twee.
Now, I’m not going to knock this self-designed effort from the 20-year-old singer.
It was her first Brit Awards, and she wanted to put her own stamp on her night.
