Amanda Gorman Performed At Superbowl LV Wearing Moschino

Poetry and football?

It’s a unique combination that’s for sure, and Amanda Gorman proved it was possible when she recited the poem ‘Chorus of the Captains’ at the 2021 Super Bowl on Sunday (February 7) to honour the paid tribute to three pandemic heroes.

A Los Angeles-based teacher called Trimaine Davis, who provided laptops and internet connections for students working from home during the lockdown, an ICU worker in Tampa Bay called Suzie Dorner, and a Marine veteran from Pittsburgh called James Martin, who has founded the Wounded Warrior Project to help vulnerable children.

Kerry Washington was speaking for many people when she said on Twitter, “@TheAmandaGorman performing at the Superbowl, is my Superbowl.”

Yup, were are only here for the inspirational poetry, and the fashion…of course.

Yellow is Amanda’s colour.

That was established at the inauguration back on January 20, and further proved with her Time Magazine cover.

On this occasion she gave us calming blue wearing a floral embossed coat dress with an embellished metallic trim from Moschino’s Spring 2021 collection.

Like her inauguration outfit, Amanda wore an eye-catching headpiece: a string of pearls, which might be a nod to Vice President Kamala Harris and her love of pearl necklaces.

Could this be the new trend Amanda going forward? Co-ordinating coats and headbands?

I’m excited to find out in the future.
