First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and President Joe Biden celebrated Inauguration Day with their granddaughters.
I’m going to go from left to right
This is a picture of them without their masks. There is another picture of the family all wearing masks that matched their outfits.
Maisy Biden: I love how Maisy wasn’t going to give up comfort when it came to styling her Rodarte silk satin dress from the Fall 2020 collection (which we recently saw on Mindy Kaling) with Nike high top sneakers.
Ashley Biden: Everyone, including me was wondering what Megan Markle was doing at this event, but it turns out that Ashley Biden (Joe Biden’s daughter) is a dead ringer for the Duchess of Sussex. She was oozing confidence in this Ralph Lauren suit which looked really sexy with the undone bow tie.
Dr Jill Biden: Here we get a closer look at the First Lady’s Gabriela Hearst dress without the coat. My feeling about this is much the same as her Markarian look in that I’m not a fan of the chiffon yoke and sleeves.
Natalie Biden: Sequins were clearly the theme of the night for the younger Bidens, as the 16-year-old also opted for a Markarian iridescent bias corset dress from Pre-Fall 2020 collection. I would’ve expected the youngest to go against the grain with sneakers, but she complemented the straps on her dress with simple black pumps.
Naomi Biden: Wearing Valentino, the Presidents granddaughter was on trend wearing the colour purple. It was the most worn, and most significant colour of the last two days along with white.
During the day the Biden girls took the internet by storm when they walked down the steps at the Capitol building wearing monochromatic looks for the inauguration.
Ashley Biden: She kept things classic and elegant wearing a navy Gabriela Hearst Cantwell coat from the Fall 2017 collection featuring a riding coat silhouette which she styled with a navy mask and gloves.
Following Ashley, were Natalie, Naomi and Finnegan who were dubbed, the “Neapolitan” triplets, as the combination of colours resembled the much loved trio of ice cream flavours.
Natalie’s custom sherbet pink look was from New York City-based brand Lafayette 148.
What is the take away here?
It’s clear that the decision to wear all American designers during inauguration day, was a signal towards how the Biden-Harris administration plans to support and address the divide within the nation.
The array of monochromatic looks perfectly align with the Presidents repeated goal of “unity.”
