Zhang Ziyi 章子怡 Wore Elie Saab Haute Couture To The Hainan Film Festival Closing Ceremony

The 3rd Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) closed its curtains after eight days on Saturday (December 12) in China, with the ambassador of HIIFF, actress Zhang Ziyi, taking to the red carpet.

We can usually rely on Zhang Ziyi to blow us away.

But on this occasion I’m struggling to fall in love.

She wore a lime-greeb Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring 2020 Haute Couture gown which is stunning on the runway, but falls flat on the actress.

I really wanted to blame the styling as Zhang Ziyi’s look was missing both the belt and the sash around the neck, but those are two very small things that should not make a huge difference to such a beautiful piece.

On reflection, I think the main problem is that the colour is really washing her out, so the mimicking the styling would’ve been insignificant.
