Kiki Layne’s Virtual Press Tour Looks For ‘The Old Guard’
There is one film everyone is talking about right now, ‘The Old Guard’ on Netflix, which is a female-centred action film that tells the story of a group of mercenaries who never die.
Not only is it fun and fierce, it’s changing who traditionally gets to be part of blockbusting action films.
We’ve already seen the start of Kiki Layne’s virtual press tour, but that was just the tip of the iceberg, as she has shared many more looks.
Fenty has been a brand we’ve failed to really warm to.
Even Rihanna hasn’t managed to sway us, but Kiki is here to change our perception wearing a vegan leather corset dress from the brands Faux Leather capsule collection, which is inspired by tradespeople in their work uniforms.
I love how this caffe latte hued piece is imbued with a hint of sex appeal with the simple, yet effective curved hem.
A lot of Fenty pieces tend to be extremely oversized, but I love this more elegant fit.
If you recognise the gold lame boots, that’s because Rihanna wore the same boots for the Fenty x Bergdorf Goodman launch celebration.
Next up we have a look that isn’t typically Dior, but the mood of these military inspired Pre-Fall 2020 camo patchwork pants are perfectly on theme for this film.
Some may feel that the blouse is a bit too prim or office-like, but the we’ve learned a lot about dressing from the waist up during quarantine for these zoom calls.
Business up top. Bad-ass below.
I really loved the energy that’s oozing from this Valentino Pre-Fall 2020 look. I love the pieces – especially those magenta shorts – but I prefer the overall look on Kiki without the floral jacket.
Missoni applied its signature zig-zag knit style to an alluring turtleneck dress silhouette which Kiki styled with a beautiful updo.
A new dawn, a new day, a new outfit and a new hairdo.
Once again in Dior, the mood softens in this sultry lace blouse and trouser combo.
Romance was in the air when Kiki donned this Cushnie Rococo print off-the-shoulder silk dress from the Pre-Fall 2020 collection.
As we’ve seen from Dakota Fanning and Emily Blunt, statement shoulders are en vogue for these zoom calls. In fact, they were very much on trend pre-pandemic.
The video below shows just how magnificent this look is in motion, and how vibrant the yellow hue is against her flawless skin.
TLR earrings and Stuart Weitzman Aleena black heels completed her look.
Kiki Layne did what she had to do in #TheOldGuard and then some.

Opting for Cushnie again, I adore how this Fall 2020 look juxtaposes angular lines with delicate, Grecian-inspired draping. The back of this draped silk jacket is breath-taking.
I’m so torn when it comes to a favourite here as they are so varied.
But I would say the two Cushnie are the front runners, with the suit narrowly ahead. I just can’t get over how beautiful that drape is.
