Robyn Rihanna Fenty and Linda Fargo hosted an event in celebration of Bergdorf Goodman’s NYFW partnership with Fenty, and the launch of FENTY’s first drop of the year, titled ‘Release 2-20’.
The BG x Fenty partnership features an exclusive pop-up with the newest collection drop, a complete 5th Avenue window takeover showcasing Fenty’s latest campaign on ‘Freedom’, and a guest-edit of Bergdorf Goodman’s newly relaunched website by Fenty and Rihanna.
As you know, I’ve been highly critical of Fenty.
Mostly because of the fact that the designer herself rarely wears it, but in this latest drop, I found myself wanting to take a second look at the brand.
Especially after seeing Rihanna’s look for the event.
From the Fenty wool turtleneck wrap dress, to the cool Fenty oversized trench parka, to the Fenty Parachute pointed-toe boots, the whole look – including the jewels – stays true to Rihanna’s style.
Not only that, but I could see myself wearing a few pieces from the Bergdorf Goodman x Fenty collection including the Fenty mustard satin-skirt hoodie dress, the Fenty draped back hoodie sweatshirt and the Fenty jewelled back oversized dress.
Seeing this collection of wearable pieces, proves my theory that the first collection was rushed.
The Bergdorf Goodman x Fenty collection is available now on BergdorfGoodman.com.
