Berlinale Film Festival Premiere

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for since we saw Cate Blanchett arrive in Germany earlier this week.

With a glorious burst of colours, the Australian actress graced the official red carpet during the 2020 Berlinale Film Festival, attending the premiere of ‘Stateless’ on Wednesday (February 26).

I loved seeing this Dries van Noten Spring 2020 wrap design worn without the white trousers that were seen on the runway.

The mood of the look changes completely, immediately becoming red-carpet-ready and wrapped in modern elegance.

That said, with such a strong pattern throughout the dress, I wanted it to stand on its own. So I would have wished to see this without the black blazer on this occasion.

But in saying that, we have to consider that it is February.

No to the hair. She would have killed it with the trousers!

I’m having mixed feelings. Cate is someone who win pants over dresses. Appreciate the idea.

The blazer is a shame, and I also miss her old, more interesting hairstyles.

I almost wish she had worn the runway look, I think she would have made it work with a great pair of high heels, but this is much better than her last looks nonetheless.

This dress looks so dated to me.

Still not loving the hair. Otherwise, this is a great look! I also would have liked to see it without the blazer, but I also do love this blazer, so… (plus the addition definitely does make sense in february in Berlin, yes)

    Oh – I like this. A lot.
It’s February in Berlin – the jacked was very much needed. 🙂

I haven’t been crazy about a Cate look for a while but I love this! I agree that this is such a statement piece that the jacket wasn’t necessary.
