Tracee Ellie Ross is on a roll, as she collected her sixth Best Actress in a Comedy Series for ‘Black-ish,’ at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday (February 22) in Pasadena, California.
We know Tracee has a love of bold silhouettes, bold colours and championing up-and-coming designers, and she gave us all three wearing a look from Christopher John Rogers’ Fall 2020 collection.
The padded shoulders appeared to have a mind of their own on Tracee. It almost feels like she has added an extra layer, or there was some serious fluffing going on here.
And the skirt. What’s going on with the jagged edge on the slit?
What sells this look to me is that eggplant colour and the sheen that almost gives the dress a dual colour effect.
I am glad that she removed the cape, as I feel this look would’ve read costumey with it.
Djula asymmetrical diamond earrings, and purple eye shadow – which really intensified the ’80s vibe – competed her look.
