Laura Dern In Valentino Haute Couture – 2020 BAFTAs

Laura Dern In Valentino Haute Couture - 2020 BAFTAs

Laura Dern won the Supporting Actress category for ‘Marriage Story’ at the 2020 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 2) in London.

For the big night, she explored a different side to her style, while showcasing her love for bold colours in a Valentino Haute Couture piece that comes from the same Beijing collection as JLo’s infamous holiday-bow gown.

So perhaps that’s why I immediately thought Christmas-tree tinsel upon seeing the embellished bodice. But, there was also an Asian tinge to the silhouette.

I do like the thought of the coral-pink hue.

But it was still a disconnect on Laura, and the casual ponytail-updo didn’t help create a polished effect.

Jessica McCormack jewels completed her look.

What I like is the full version on runaway. It’s all about drama. Well I don’t know Laura would make it work so I accept what she serves.

I actually like this! The colour is nice and suit her, the fit is good, the velvet is to die for. The hair could have been better. But it’s a nice overall look.

Oh my gosh, I love this…HTT. She looks like she’s comfortable in it , too & may be enjoying herself. Plus pockets!

    This is so dated.

Sometimes Laura looks truly like a movie star and other times (most times) she looks like a midwestern housewife going to a wedding.

While I love the dress, this belongs on someone with a smaller shoulder span. It looks too small on her.

The hot pink color is lovely. I like it well enough on Laura but her styling is sloppy. I want to see the runway look on someone else.

Did she forget to have her hair done?

Great look – love the pockets!

I don’t really like the dress much, but this is great color, and looks good on her.

Messy hair aside she looks lovely. The color and the fabrics look delicious on her.

I wish she had worn the cape. It would have been over the top but I would have loved it. Laura has beautiful hair but she is not working that tonight.

This time I disagree with you because I love it. It’s different from her usual style, yet she pulls it off, imo.

I like this, I think it’s her best look of this award season so far.

The color is refreshing for her. Its nice and simple. I prefer her hair back rather than down so I accept this. I wish the hair was a bit neater but whatever.
dress color feels fresh on her, so I take it.

It’s a nice dress with bodice details. I really wish her team had done more with her hair for this look, it makes it forgettable. I also kinda wish Saoirse had gotten this. I wouldn’t mind seeing it reworn with the cape.

I thought Miu Miu at first glance.

This is a personal best for her, her looks are usually not very well put together but I think everything works here.
