Rihanna Rocked A Vintage Kimono For The ‘Queen & Silm’ Premiere at AFI FEST 2019

Rihanna made a surprised appearance on the red carpet for the AFI FEST 2019 premiere of ‘Queen & Slim’ held at TCL Chinese Theatre on Thursday (November 14) in Hollywood, California.

‘Queen & Slim’ romantic thriller about a black couple on the run after they kill a white policeman in self-defence, directed by Melina Matsoukas (in her feature directorial debut) and with a screenplay by Lena Waithe from a story by James Frey and Waithe.

Rihanna’s style has many peaks and troughs these days.

One moment she’s giving us so much sassy in animal print Saint Laurent. The next she’s presenting a creased Jacquemus suit.

On this occasion she joined a growing list of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Gwyneth Paltrow who are dipping back into the archives.

The mogul wore a vintage John Galliano black satin Kimono evening coat from the Spring 1995 which was sourced by William Vintage.

The piece was minimalist, infused with effortless luxury and elegance courtesy of the sumptuous satin fabric, but I love how Rihanna amped up the glam with a selection of David Webb jewels including a streamline necklace with carved rock crystal, brilliant-cut diamonds, black enamel, 18K gold, and platinum with David Webb’s ‘The Gatsby’ bracelet with fluted rock crystal, brilliant-cut diamonds, 18K white gold, and platinum.

I can take or leave the chain accented Jimmy Choo ‘ Titania’ bag, but I love the sassy strappy sandals.

This was an overall win for Rihanna. Do you agree?
