Front Row @ Gucci Resort 2020

Alessandro Michele presented Gucci’s Cruise 2020 collection at the Musei Capitolini on Tuesday (May 28) in Rome, Italy, with a host of ambassadors and A-list celebrities.

Zoe Saldana:  If you’re surprised by Zoe front row at Gucci, may I remind you of a few of her red carpet Gucci looks.  The 2012 ALMA Awards, the 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala, and 2017 Golden Globe Awards.  On this occasion her look was typically chic wearing a Gucci Spring 2019 dress.  I love how this feel modern with the asymmetrical cuts, yet retro with the signature striped grosgrain trims and bold shoulders.  I’m lusting after her Gucci gold leather sandals with pearl and stud details.

Saoirse Ronan: My favourite from the 2019 Met Gala was of course front row wearing a Gucci Pre-Fall 2019 dress that appears destined for sun-drenched escapes. Dusted in a check and floral print, its airy feel and tumbling ruffles, showcases a rare uber laidback side to Saoirse’s style.

A$AP Rocky:  I know what some are thinking.  A$AP Rocky threw everything including the kitchen sink at this Gucci Pre-Fall 2019 look, but to me he nailed the look.  A check kimono, with a feline bowling shirt and denim 3-D frogs, tigers and another animal patches? It shouldn’t work, right?  And that’s all before you get to the socks and sandals combo.  But he sells it to me.  Don’t ask me how, chaotic as it is. When you have it, you have it.

Gucci Pre-Fall 2019

Li Yuchun:  Houndstooth is trending in the front row.  Firstly via Caroline de  Maigret, and now with Li Yuchun.  Her jumpsuit from Gucci’s Fall 2019 collection of course is maximized with the white Chantilly lace shirt we saw on the runway.  Was this detail OTT considering the high impact of the print?  Gucci Le Marché des Merveilles jewels plus Gucci loafers completed her look.

Gucci Fall 2019

Naomi Campbell: The model is the first to wear a look from the Gucci Cruise 2020 collection.  I love the Bollywood inspiration behind this black moire tunic dress with embroidered leaf motif, with the theme emulated withing her hairstyle. Gucci’s Le Marché des Merveilles Dionysus earrings and Le Marché des Merveilles feline head pendant necklace completed her look.
