Gwei Lun-Mei In Chanel Haute Couture – ‘The Wild Goose Lake’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Gwei Lun-Mei In Chanel Haute Couture - 'The Wild Goose Lake' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Gwei Lun Mei also took to the red carpet on Saturday (May 18) for ‘The Wild Goose Lake (Nan Fang Che Zhan De Ju Hui/ Le Lac Aux Oies Sauvages)’ premiere during Cannes Film Festival.

If you are tired of tulle gowns, you may just be taken by Gwei Lun Mei in her Chanel Spring 2017 Haute Couture dress.

I love that this feels so fresh despite being a few seasons old.

There is so much glamour and modernity here,  mostly imbued by the mirrored and sequined embellishments.

You may have issue with the length, but I think the fault lies in the angle in which this photo was taken.

This is easily one of my favourites from this festival.

Should’ve been hemmed to the proper tea length on her body. Should have been steamed/pressed so the satin panels didn’t look so awful. Should have been folded and tucked appropriately so the folds laid better where belted. Just seems like the wrong dress for this pretty lady.

Length is at a really awkward position,it shortened her significantly.
and the color is also hideous

I’m not bothered at all by the length, color, or belt…..
what I am bothered by is that on the lookbook version, the bodice folds are even, neat, distinct.
on hers, it is like the stylists forgot how it was supposed to originally look and just quickly scrunched the fabric down into the belt.
    too bad.
it had a lot of potential. I agree it felt fresh!

I agree. A little more refining and a steam would have lifted this into the best dressed vote.
still a lovely dress and very different to the poofy tulle ball gowns and slit to here dresses that have been seen at Cannes recently.

she should have said no to this dress. It needed to be shortened for her and that would have thrown off the proportions. Sometimes, you just gotta walk away from the dress and this was one of those times. Plus, the green color is awful.

And the dress is designed for a person with a longer torso. All in all, a big no to this.

The dress as you say feels refreshing after most of the looks we’ve seen. I don’t think she’s selling it as much as others could though and I wish for a less obtrusive silver belt.

The length is awkward and it’s a shame about the creases but I still like this It is a fresher offering especially compared to what we’ve seen so far.

I dont mind the length. But the belt has to go. It looked bad on the runway, but on Gwei it makes the bust area look a tad odd. She does look appropiate and beautiful without trying hard, a sea of diamonds or tulle nor a tigh high slit. A rarity for Cannes lately.
