ELLE’s 25th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration

ELLE’s 25th Annual Women In Hollywood celebration which took place on Monday (October 15) in Los Angeles, California, saw a lot more lovely ladies in attendance.

Sara Sampaio: The Portuguese beauty wore a stereotypical sexy Julien Macdonald Spring 2019 dress, which usually isn’t a surprise on most models, but it was for Sara.

Vanessa Hudgens: The actress appeared to be edging back to her boho roots in this Alberta Ferretti Spring 2018 pinafore dress. However, I wonder if the rust-hue denim jacket was necessary to sell this look?

Yara Shahidi: As one of the honorees for the night, the ‘Black-ish’ star donned a look from the co-host Calvin Klein. The dress appears to be a simple yellow sheath, until you clock the satin train at the back. To give the look another edge, she wore dual-colour sandals to round out her look.

Sandra Bullock: The actress offered up a Prabal Gurung Resort 2019 dress in vivid autumnal palette of deep purple and red which I wished to have seen more of. Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ sandals completed her look.

Laura Harrier: There will be no prizes for guessing that Laura was wearing Louis Vuitton. The Resort 2019 look, which had a futuristic feel about it due to the silver space-age top, reminded me of a similar look Emma Stone wore during Venice Film Festival.

Tika Sumpter: Presented in an alluring silhouette, this Rasario dress makes for a punchy piece of formalwear in this bold red hue. The flared sleeves and slit in the skirt adds an extra dose of drama, along with her rouge lip.

Caitriona Balfe: On this occasion the Calvin Klein accessories stood out more than the dress.

Kiki Layne: This Calvin Klein Fall 2018 dress may not be tulle laden, but it’s still in keeping with Kiki’s super elegant, feminine style, with the shoulder detailing tempering the cut-outs. I’m sure the side boob might throw some of you off this look. Irene Neuwirth jewels provided the finishing touches.

Mackenzie Foy: The actress was looking as adorable as ever in Erdem’s Resort 2019 rose lurex jacquard dress. I love the way her silver Schutz shoes, a Ming Ray bag and Irene Neuwirth jewels complement her dress.

Debby Ryan: Horse imagery has been used throughout Chloé’s archival collections, and Natacha Ramsay-Levi re-introduced it for Resort 2019. It’s not often that I can say I like the sock and sandal combo, but Debby makes it work here.

Sasha Lane: The actress is usually opts for edgy looks, so I was surprised by this Loewe navy blue knitted dress with orange stripe details from the Resort 2019 collection, but it was nice change of pace.

Sofia Carson: There may be some who will say that Sofia appeared a tad overdressed for the occasion, but I love that she opted for high glamour wearing a Missoni green, pleated metallic lame strapless gown with tiered skirt and embellished bodice.

Juliette Lewis: The PJ trend is back, and Juliette leading the charge in this silky Haider Ackermann Fall 2018 suit style with Malone Souliers ‘Maureen’ pumps which complemented the autumnal tone of her rust suit.

Rowan Blanchard: The actress kept thing super simple in a Calvin Klein LBD, but added intrigue with her dual colour sandals we also saw on Yara.

Ellen Pompeo: The actress’ moto must be, “there’s no such thing as too much pink,” and I would agree on this occasion as she totally nailed this Calvin Klein look. Irene Neuwirth jewelry completed her look.

Aja Naomi King: Perhaps as a result of her debut at Cannes, I found this A.L.C. look very underwhelming.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead: Now this is how you take a simple look and give it life. The actress wore a Bella Freud velvet suit styled with a Cushine lurex blouse. Hearts On Fire Jewelry completed her look.

Sandra is my fave here – love the look! Does anyone else think she’s starting to look a bit like MJ?

Vanessa’s jacket deserves a worst dressed mention all by itself.

Mary Elizabeth’s looks quite good as usual — definitely an underrated star. I think the train adds nothing to Yara’s dress. I’m still not there with being able to like socks and sandals so Debby’s look is pretty bad IMO.

    Mackenzie looks cute.
Yaras is too basic to interest me.

Can we send Julien MacDonald on some refresher design course to give some new ideas? Maybe a few other designers while we’re at it.

Laura is my favourite, she looks so edgy, love that top. Yara, Sofia and Sandra(from what I can see) look fab. The rest are meh. Aja looks like she just threw on a robe.
