Jennifer Lopez’s MTV VMAs Atelier Versace Extravaganza

Jennifer Lopez's MTV VMAs Atelier Versace Extravaganza

It seems that you expected more from Jennifer Lopez on the red carpet at the 2018 MTV VMAs, mostly because it was her night – as the recipient of the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award – and because, well, she’s JLo.

I’m not quite sure how an Atelier Versace gown doesn’t excite, but the diva had plenty more Atelier Versace looks up her sleeve.

For her performance, she first appeared on stage in a custom-made chiffon cape in the Versace Pillow Talk print from the Pre- Fall 2018 collection, entirely encrusted in Swarovski Crystals while performing ‘Waiting For Tonight’.

Removing the cape she gave us an eye-popping reveal of her gold bondage-style body suit with Swarovski crystal mesh accents, featuring a gold Medusa medallion.

As things slowed down for her ‘ All I Have’ performance, she donned a custom white faux-fur coat with Pillow Talk print lining.

For the finale, JLo layered her body suit with a custom-made tracksuit fully embellished with Swarovski crystals for her ‘Jenny From The Block’ performance and my personal favourite part – where the nostalgia was very real – with the introduction of Ja Rule as they performed ‘I’m Real’ and ‘Ain’t It Funny’.

She accessorized her look with a fully encrusted hat with Swarovski crystal embellishments and iconic gold Medusa.

For the acceptance of her MTV Video Music Award for Best Collaboration, Jennifer wore stunning in a black micro-mini dress encrusted with art-deco inspired geometric crystal beading, with dramatic layerd laser-cut plexiglass skirt, which she accessorized perfectly with an oversized statement belt and coordinating beaded ankle boots.

That’s a lot of bling, but I expected nothing less from JLo.
