Jaime King In Schiaparelli Haute Couture – ‘SOLO: A Star Wars Story’ LA Premiere

Like Sofia Vergara, Jaime King was clad in a tiered ensemble at the ‘SOLO: A Star Wars Story’ LA premiere on Thursday (May 10).

She fully embraced the whimsical nature of Schiaparelli Haute Couture in a Fall 2017 look that had an interesting tactile quality despite the gossamer fabrics.

The sheer bodice will be a big talking point but I foresee the gloves as being the thing that either kills the look or elevates it.

I don’t mind them on the runway, but would have liked to see her take the dress in a different direction. Removing the gloves would have created a more bohemian mood.

The detail that irks me more is the bottom black tier as it’s too long. I can see why it was included to contrast the lighter lurid totes and pick up the texture, but it distracts from the rest of the look, right or wrong length.

It even overpowers the shoulder-grazing earrings.

I love it. In this case, the gloves elevate the look.

This is one ugly dress. What was anyone involved in putting Jaime in this from the designer to the stylist to the wearer thinking?

She usually does soooo much better than this. This is a fail. The black tier just doesn’t belong. Didn’t need the gloves. And its pretty darn sheer.

Some dresses only look great on the runway or in Editorials and not meant for the redcarpet, this is one of those dresses.

    The execution is not good.

The see through top is such a drab colour and it is accentuated by the shapewear bra.

And I agree about the gloves and the bottom tier.

Actually, the more i think about the uglier this dress becomes. Too clever for its own good.
